Turnery cannot be limited to a technical practice and an activity sector: it is the historical trait that has deeply marked communes such as Ravilloles and the entire Haut-Jura. The “Usine Burbon” is a tangible example: throughout its lives, until today in the “l’Atelier des savoir-faire”, this location demonstrated the layering of eras, chapters of turning, and the lives of the men and women who live here.
Its new uses, until the transformation as a place of highlighting the know-how and training, are at their turn the sign of the contemporary world : the interest for the heritage dimension of the places, the apparition of new ways of understanding the earth (terroir), this new desire for development through tourism, the economic activity, cultural action. The ambition of this initiative is also to suggest that places, which do not live simply through what we do there, are the fragile, yet dense and real reflections of the past.
